A globally-renowned luxury fashion house has turned the spotlight on our vanishing traditions. This is Louis Vuitton Korea's «ARTisans» project, a year-long initiative aimed at preserving Korean cultural heritage.

«ARTisans» is an art program with a 200 million won budget that identified and supported living national treasure artisans. The program featured collaborations between master artisans and contemporary artists, as well as workshops bringing together artisans and emerging artists. The goal was to preserve and advance overlooked traditional culture while inspiring young artists in their creative pursuits.

Han Sung-jae from Analogizm conducted workshops across various disciplines including fine arts, pottery, wooden furniture crafting, video media, and spatial design, producing works that blended traditional and modern elements. These creations were showcased at Space K located in Sinsa-dong, Seoul from March 13th to the 31st, 2014.

Cho Hyun-wook, CEO of Louis Vuitton Korea, remarked, "Safeguarding and passing down artisan spirits has been the cornerstone value of Louis Vuitton since its establishment in 1854." He further stated, "We hope this project will serve as a meaningful platform to increase public appreciation for Korea's valuable traditional culture and act as a bridge for generating new value in the future."
